Skills Competition Wales

Skills Competition Wales consists of around 30 local skills competitions, funded by the Welsh Government and run by a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations. Skills Competition Wales forms part of the Welsh Government’s Growth and Sustainable Jobs programme, and aims to raise the profile of skills in Wales.

Skills Competition Wales offers students, trainees and apprentices in Wales a chance to challenge, benchmark and raise their skills by taking part in local competitions across a range of sectors. These skills competitions are free to enter and typically run throughout February and March each year.

Although competitors are encouraged to progress and take part in WorldSkills UK competitions, where last year around 5,000 people took part, registering for Skills Competition Wales does not automatically register you for WorldSkills UK.
